Shaun Deeb and David 'Viffer' Peat Clash Over $32k Debt on Twitter

Poker players Shaun Deeb and David 'Viffer' Peat are embroiled in a heated public dispute over a $32,000 debt, with the conflict escalating on Twitter. The dispute goes back several years, with Deeb claiming he bought the debt from another party. The original disputed $32,000 debt has now blossomed into a $100k to $50k sidebet, Deeb getting the 2-1 odds and insisting the extra $32k be added on should he win.

Shaun Deeb's WCOOP schedule was interrupted by a bout with COVID-19, from which he played poker from his hospital bed. Deeb's recovery included a Twitter spat with Viffer, with the pair trading insults and offers across multiple tweets.

Getting someone to act as arbitrator has proved to be a bit of a struggle, Matt Glantz turning down the gig, but as Peat explained: “I’m sure we won’t have a probalem finding someone who hates us both to settle this.”

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
