Scott Seiver: From College Poker to High-Stakes Pro
Scott Seiver, a renowned poker player, began his poker journey in 2006 by playing tournaments. By the end of 2007, he transitioned to cash games, quickly moving up the limits. Seiver attributes his success to a fundamental understanding of poker and the ability to analyze his sessions and understand his mistakes.
Seiver played most of his cash games on Full Tilt and learned poker from Isaac Haxton, a fellow student at his university. He studied computer science and economics at Brown University, and briefly worked at Lehman Brothers before becoming a professional poker player.
Seiver believes that many players underestimated the dispersion in poker and the required depth of bankroll. He considers Victor Bloom one of the best players in no-limit hold'em and found Sauce to be one of the most challenging opponents due to his balanced play style.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
