Sam Soverel Wins PLO Title and $175,500 at US Poker Open

Sam Soverel emerged victorious in the PLO tournament at the US Poker Open, securing a prize of $175,500. The event, which had a $10,000 buy-in, started with 65 entries and was whittled down to six players at the final table. Soverel had more than double the chips of his nearest challenger, setting the stage for an intense final showdown.

In the final hand, Jordan Cristos, who finished second with $130,000, held ace-jack-four-deuce with two clubs, while Soverel defended his big blind with ten-nine-seven-four with two diamonds. The flop brought out ace-nine-seven, and Soverel check-called a bet of 400,000. The turn brought a seven, giving Soverel trips, and Cristos moved all in for two-thirds the size of the pot. Soverel made the call and had Cristos drawing dead, claiming the victory in this event.

Soverel's win came after a series of eliminations where he took out Maxx Coleman and Dylan Weisman, leaving him and Cristos heads-up. The final table also saw Jordan Cristos account for Matthew Ploof and Marc Brody, who finished third with $84,500.
