Russian Player Secures Second Place in Sunday Million on PokerStars
The Sunday Million tournament on PokerStars recently concluded with a Russian player making a strong showing. The event attracted 10,804 entries and had a prize pool of $1,080,400. A total of 1,934 players made it into the prize pool.
The winner of the tournament was Brazilian player Gabriel "gtavares10" Tavares, who secured the top prize of $110,890. This is not Tavares' first major win; he also won a $109 buy-in tournament on the Bounty Builder series last month, earning $7,380 for that victory.
In the heads-up battle, Tavares faced off against the Russian player "serg.82g", who finished in second place, earning $80,460. The third-place finisher was another Brazilian player, Guilherme "Pelckito" Franco, who took home $58,400. Several other Russian and Ukrainian players also made it into the prize money, including "Roman-Mi" from Russia, who finished in 10th place with earnings of $6,190. Ukrainian players "artemkjke" and "Romanuch13" secured 25th and 40th places respectively, with "artemkjke" earning $3,260 and "Romanuch13" taking home $2,370.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
