Resorts World Queens: New York's New Gambling Giant
Resorts World Queens has quickly become New York's highest-grossing casino, generating millions in its first weeks of operation. The casino opened 200 table games on April 28 and is part of a massive $5.5 billion expansion project. This expansion will include 6,000 slot machines and 800 table games, making it one of the largest casinos in the state.
Resorts World Queens is the first full-scale casino in New York City, and it has already made a significant impact on the state's gaming revenue. In its first week of expanded operations, the casino generated $27.2 million in gross gaming revenue. This figure is a stark contrast to the $13.4 million in gross gaming revenue generated by the four upstate commercial casinos in the week before Resorts World launched table games.
Resorts World Queens is part of a larger project that includes 1,600 hotel rooms, a 7,000-seat entertainment venue, 12 acres of public green space, and a spa. The project is expected to be completed in several phases, with the first phase already underway. The casino's success has given New York some early insights on how state gaming revenue may play out in the Big Apple.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
