How Regulated U.S. Online Casinos Are Enhancing High-Stakes Gaming
Licensed U.S. casinos have raised the standard because the details are out in the open now, and experienced players have learned to look at them before the first hand is dealt.
New York has proposed device registration, biometric identity checks during account creation and checks before wagers, along with location controls for unusual account activity. The proposed triggers get very specific. They include deposits above $10,000 in 24 hours, deposits above $100,000 in 90 days and account turnover above $1 million across the same period.
The state of Michigan recorded $305.8 million in iGaming gross receipts during May 2026. Fifteen authorized commercial and tribal operators were active in the state during that month. This gives serious players plenty to choose from, but it also makes the small differences more important. One casino may have better live dealer depth; another may run a cleaner cashier or carry stronger table limits.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
