PokerStars Tightens Rules on Third-Party Tools and Services
PokerStars is updating its policies on third-party tools and services, effective from March 1, 2019. The new policy prohibits the use of software that simplifies game selection based on opponent data, such as automatic seating and table opening if the software does not use player statistics.
Under the new rules, the use of delayed or random-sized bets is also prohibited. Additionally, HUDs are restricted from automatically changing based on stack sizes or table positions. These changes aim to simplify game selection, betting strategies, and decision-making processes.
The time bank for decision-making has been reduced to 10 seconds pre-flop and 15 seconds post-flop if there was a raise. These changes are already in effect for limits up to NL25 and will be applied to all stakes from February 5, 2019.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
