PokerStars Announces Changes to Heads-Up Cash Games
Heads-up poker is the most dynamic and profitable discipline for experienced cash players, allowing them to maximize their advantage by playing each hand against a single opponent.
In online poker, there are no physical limitations on the size of the poker room, allowing many sites to offer players the option to play alone at one table.
PokerStars has been considering optimal solutions for the heads-up lobby, and in late summer, a manager named Nick, responsible for cash games on PokerStars, began preparing the poker community for inevitable changes. Nick presented two main solutions that were already discussed during one of the meetings of PokerStars management with players.
The first solution involves mandatory play tables where a player will be required to play a certain number of hands. The second solution is an improved 'King of the Hill' where most tables are hidden, and players need to adjust settings to see the full list. Yori 'L0ve2playU' van der Sman prefers the second variant, stating that it is more favorable.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
