PokerStars' Merger with FanDuel Boosts U.S. Online Poker Revenue

PokerStars' merger with FanDuel in the U.S. in April has significantly boosted online poker revenue in the country. The merger resulted in an 11.4% revenue increase to more than $2.6 million in New Jersey and a 9.7% revenue increase to $2.6 million in Pennsylvania. PokerStars merged the Pennsylvania platform with the shared player pool of Michigan and New Jersey.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online has been running online satellites for the summer series, and the BetMGM Poker Championship is set for June 29 to July 4 at the Aria in Las Vegas. These events likely influenced the increased play and revenue.

Pennsylvania reported $595 million in revenue from all forms of gaming in April, a 6.5% increase from the same month in 2025. Online gaming produced revenue of $245.8 million, rising 7.9% from $227.7 million in April 2025. Online slot revenue surged 15.2% to $195.2 million, while online table games numbers fell 14.1% to $48 million. iGaming accounted for $113.5 million in tax revenue. For sports betting, handle reached $641.6 million for the month, up 9.8% from last April. The taxable revenue figure for April was $59 million, 38.6% from April 2025.
