PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2019: Million-Dollar Wins and Surprising Champions
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in January 2019 was a month of record-breaking wins and surprising champions. The championship event, with a buy-in of $25,000, saw Ramon Kolillas emerge as the winner, taking home an astonishing $5.1 million. Kolillas, a small gym owner and micro-limit poker enthusiast, had no significant poker achievements before this win.
Sam Greenwood secured a victory in the tournament with the highest buy-in of $100,000. Rainer Kempe also made a strong showing, winning two tournaments: a $50,000 event and a turbo tournament with a $10,000 buy-in.
Chino Rheem won the main event of the PCA, while Pavel Veksler finished in 5th place, earning $503,000—the largest win for a Russian player in January 2019. Arseniy Karmatskiy shared a heads-up victory in a $2,200 tournament with Bart Libert, earning $253,829. Toby Lewis won over $1 million at the Aussie Millions, including a first-place finish in a high roller event.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
