PokerStars Introduces Ante in Micro-Limit Zoom: Players React
PokerStars has introduced an ante on micro-limits in Zoom, affecting all Hold'em and Omaha tables from $0.01/$0.02 to $0.05/$0.10. The ante is $0.01 for all limits, making the pre-flop pot 6bb at the lowest limit. The change is in test mode, and it is unclear if it will affect higher limits.
Reactions from players have been mixed. Fopihu predicted that ABC-regs will soon die due to the new ante. Nik_old is happy with the change, considering nits to be the main problem of micro-limit Zoom. Terrorblade noted that after the introduction of the ante, there are more lovers at the tables, and he is not worried about his win rates. Konopelkin spoke on behalf of the lovers, noting that recreational players will lose their stacks faster with the ante.
Onlyvizard is generally satisfied with the introduction of the ante, but considers that on NL2 all is not so rosy. An11nA reminded those who are happy about the misfortune that has befallen the nits: 'You are not nits. Now your turn.' Kazrich is concerned about the impending influx of Zoom regulators to regular tables. HeroOrZero seems to be generally satisfied with everything. Kazzloff is not going to give in: 'Playing zoom with ante is a crime against one's own conscience.' zoras calculated the push spectra on the button: 'Ante the size of the small blind creates a huge attractive pot on the pre-flop, for which you can and should fight very loosely.' Misha Inner shared basic adjustments that will help adapt the game to the new realities.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
