PokerStars Announces Global Layoffs Amid Restructuring
PokerStars, the online poker giant, is set to lay off employees globally as part of a restructuring program. The company is integrating its online poker offering with Flutter’s leading brands, including FanDuel, to better serve customers.
The job cuts will affect the company’s global hubs in Canada, Europe, the UK, and Ireland. PokerStars has begun formal consultations with 100 staff members. The exact number of employees affected remains unknown as of now.
PokerStars has faced increased competition and loss of market share from operators like GGPoker, WPT Global, and CoinPoker. The UK Remote Gaming Duty almost doubled in April to 40%.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
