PokerPlanets Prepares for Launch: What to Expect from the New Poker Room
PokerPlanets is gearing up for its launch, and PokerStars Sochi will close on April 6, 2025, transferring its Russian player base to the new platform. All accounts with Russian registration that haven't changed their country in the last three years will be automatically transferred. Players can download the PokerPlanets client and restore their accounts using their PokerStars email and password.
PokerPlanets will offer a variety of games, including Hold'em, Omaha, Teleport Hold'em, and Spin&Win. The tournament schedule will feature major events with buy-ins ranging from 5.5 to 109, along with an extensive satellite network. Tournaments will be categorized into 'orbits' named after planets, such as Saturn Cup, Uranus Cup, and others. Additionally, there will be familiar formats like Mini Main, Mini Main Bounty, Main, and Main Bounty.
PokerPlanets will have a global player pool but will not be connected to the PokerStars global pool. The platform will support local payment solutions and cryptocurrencies, although a full list of payment methods is not yet available. PokerDom is also offering a freeroll ticket with a 150,000 guarantee for deposits made through PokerSwap.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
