Poker Stars Gather in Rozvadov: Negreanu, Galfond, and More

Daniel Negreanu arrived in Rozvadov for the WSOPE, primarily for the 'Player of the Year' race, where he currently holds the 3rd position. He even skipped a €250,000 tournament because it didn't count towards the race, opting instead for a mini-main event with a €1,350 buy-in. Negreanu has been documenting his journey with daily vlogs, starting with his trip to Chezia. He highlighted the warm reception from the organizers but noted issues with second-hand smoke in their non-smoking floor accommodation, which led his wife, Amanda, to leave early.

Phil Galfond reflected on the evolution of poker strategy, noting that before solvers, players could play as they wished. However, with the introduction of solvers, there are now multiple correct answers, allowing players more flexibility. Galfond also shared a childhood anecdote about staying still when a bee landed on him, illustrating his calm and composed nature.

Nick Schulman praised the efforts of players investigating the Mike Postle case, mentioning several key figures involved in the investigation. Joe Ingram shared his ideal lineup for a night of poker in Vegas, including a variety of colorful characters. Toni Dunst organized a closed poker game, inviting only those who believe in Mike Postle's innocence. Garrett Adelstein made a notable fold in a high-stakes game, giving up on a second nut hand on the river. Nick Marchington shared that a legal dispute with his backers was resolved out of court, with all restrictions on his funds lifted.
