Poker Pros Share Their Most Unforgettable Hands
Poker players often recall hands that stand out in their careers, and a recent discussion brought some of the most memorable moments to light. Landon Tice shared a hand from a $1,100 deep tournament at the Venetian where he pushed with on a flop of two treys and received a snap fold on the river.
Dan Smith recalled a hand from the 2014 Main Event bubble where he had a 1 million effective stack and pushed all-in on the river with a set of fours. He mentioned that even in 2014, he understood that it would have been wiser to keep some chips, but he chose to push all-in because folding would have been too harsh.
Melissa Burr shared a story from a $100/$200 mix game at Borgata where a dealer walked out mid-hand, leaving a $50k pot unresolved. The dealer, unable to handle the constant shouting, threw down the cards and left, prompting an awkward silence that turned into hysterical laughter. A manager had to be called to finish the hand.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
