Poker Promotion Offers iPod Shuffle: Guess the Hand and Win

On January 12, 2011, a special poker promotion was announced, giving players another chance to win an iPod Shuffle. The promotion was initiated because no one correctly guessed the hand on January 5, 2011. Players had until 12:00 CET on January 13, 2011, to make their guess and claim the prize.

The hand in question was a No Limit Holdem game involving five players: Hero, befumo, l3izar, marcoboogers, and KTHXBAI. The game started with Hero raising to $125 pre-flop, and marcoboogers calling. The flop revealed 5 J 4, with marcoboogers checking and Hero betting $150. The turn card was 2, and the river card was 7. Hero's final pot was $4,611, resulting in a net profit of $2,333.

Hero's strategic moves and marcoboogers' checks and raises created an exciting dynamic throughout the hand. The promotion not only added an extra layer of excitement but also provided a tangible reward for the winner.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
