Pro Poker Player Caught Using Solver Mid-Hand at WPT Event
Professional poker player Andrew Esposito found himself in hot water during a live World Poker Tour (WPT) event. Esposito was accused of using a GTO solver during the $5k buy-in WPT Gardens Poker Championship in Southern California.
The incident occurred during day two of the event, when Peter Cross asked Esposito to stop using the GTO app. Esposito admitted to having the app open but claimed it was only for referencing a hand played earlier. Esposito's behavior sparked controversy and debate within the poker community.
Gardens Casino Tournament Manager, Cavin Quintanilla, addressed the situation and pointed to TDA Rule #5. Esposito claimed that he sees people using the app often and questioned the clarity of TDA rules. The incident went viral, with many poker professionals and fans weighing in on the issue.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
