Poker Player Banned After Exposing 888poker Bot Exploit
SevereMort, a poker player, discovered a significant bug in the 888poker bot by exploiting a specific betting pattern. The bot would fold every time SevereMort made a 1-chip bet on the flop. This discovery allowed SevereMort to exploit the bot repeatedly, causing it to fold consistently under these conditions.
After discovering the exploit, SevereMort reported the bot to 888poker support and informed other players about the vulnerability. He shared his findings with many regulars, helping them to identify and exploit the bot's weakness. The bot continued to fold on the 1-chip bet on the flop, making it easy for players to take advantage of the situation.
Six days after reporting the bot, SevereMort's account was banned for suspected cheating. The ban was formulated as 'Your account is one of the accounts blocked during the investigation of suspicious gaming schemes.' This unexpected turn of events left SevereMort and other players surprised and frustrated.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
