Poker Player's Account Blocked for Political Nickname 'Trump 2024'
Tim Bart, a poker player, found himself in hot water due to his nickname on the WSOP.com platform. His nickname, 'Trump 2024', was deemed inappropriate by the poker room's administration.
WSOP.com sent Bart a letter stating that his nickname could be offensive to other players and that he had violated the rules. The letter requested that he provide three alternative nickname options within four days. However, Bart refused to change his nickname, citing his strong support for President Trump and his use of the nickname for four years.
In response to the controversy, WSOP.com updated its nickname creation rules to prohibit any political pseudonyms. The poker room clarified that any references to political figures or parties in nicknames are now strictly forbidden.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
