Poker, Parties, and Palm Trees: A Night in Bangkok and Koh Samui
The author and Dzina spent one night in Bangkok to recover from a long journey. They enjoyed some Thai food and shopping but were too tired to explore the city's attractions. That night, the author played poker online and lost a significant amount of money, despite his best efforts to control his tilt.
The author received a message from David about money owed to him. David offered to send the money to the author's Moneybookers account, which would allow the author to use it for tournament buy-ins on PokerStars. The author was relieved to have some financial support after his recent losses.
After arriving in Koh Samui, the author was disappointed to see many Finnish high-stakes players on the island. He found the presence of so many tourists and fellow countrymen to be irritating, as he had hoped for a more secluded and exotic experience. Despite this, the author and his friends had a party at their villa, inviting many poker players and their Thai girlfriends. The party was a success, with plenty of food, drinks, and good company.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
