WPT NFTs and Theta Labs Partnership

The partnership between Theta Labs and World Poker Tour (WPT) marked the debut of WPT NFTs. On April 18, historic poker moments were put on sale, with episodes directing viewers to the NFT marketplace. Adam Pliska, the World Poker Tour's CEO, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, 'Our exclusive NFT launch with Theta Network is one of our biggest digital initiatives to-date and for the first time ever we're combining our global reach of live televised poker with an NFT marketplace, giving our fans an interactive, real-time opportunity to collect a piece of the WPT poker action.'

This collaboration brought top-rated poker pros, celebrities, and players into the NFT craze. Notable moments include the Legendary Scotty Nguyen card, where Nguyen's AQs defeated Michael Mizrachi's AJo in the WPT World Poker Open. Each holder of this NFT can click on 'Play Moment' to watch a video of that hand. Additionally, there are redeemable NFTs like the Golden Theta Poker Chips signed by Mitch Liu, with a starting price of $1,575. These chips are extremely limited, with only 200 ever made. The limited supply of each NFT creates demand, increasing the price of WPT moments.
