Poker in Education: How Card Games Are Changing the Classroom
The Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society (GPSTS) was founded in 2006 by Charles Nesson, a professor at Harvard Law School. The organization aims to promote poker as an academic learning tool.
Charles Nesson used poker to help students understand the role of a lawyer and break away from rigid legal thinking. He believed that poker could help students see themselves as independent thinkers managing their own strategies.
In January, students at the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse could enroll in a course titled 'Strategic Thinking Using Game Theory' taught by Charles Swain. This course explored how poker strategies could be applied to fields such as physics, mathematics, and political science.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
