Poker Player Wins Millions After Software Bug Allows Card Peeking
Elizabethta Bertucci, a long-time player at OK Poker, discovered a significant software bug that allowed her to see discarded cards when using an iPad. The bug, which was active from July 2019 to May 2020, enabled players to gain an unfair advantage. Bertucci reported the issue to OK Poker's support team, who acknowledged the problem but took five days to fix it. Despite the delay, the bug persisted for nearly a year, affecting numerous players.
Bertucci's lawsuit against OK Poker has been approved by the Quebec court, allowing all affected players to claim compensation. The court's decision opens the door for players who used PCs or Android devices during the bug's active period to join the class-action lawsuit. Players can fill out a form to participate, and lawyers will seek to recover all losses incurred during this time, plus an additional $300 compensation for each plaintiff. Additionally, the lawsuit demands a change of all usernames to prevent opponents from exploiting information gained due to the bug.
In a separate incident, GGPoker appointed Dan Bilzerian as an ambassador, sparking controversy within the poker community. Vanessa Kade, a prominent figure in the community, criticized the move, leading to a heated exchange on Twitter. Kade's criticism resulted in her affiliate program being terminated by GGPoker. However, Kade quickly bounced back, signing a new contract with America's Cardroom and winning $1,500,000 in the Sunday Million tournament. Meanwhile, Justin Bonomo faced technical issues during a heads-up match in the MILLIONS Online series, including problems with his time bank, which affected his gameplay.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
