Poker Expert Jonathan Little Reveals When to Adjust Your 3-Bet Range

Poker players often use the same three-betting strategy against everyone, but this could be a costly mistake. According to poker expert Jonathan Little, adjusting your three-bet range based on your opponent can significantly improve your game.

Little advises that players should consider using a polarized three-bet range in certain situations. A polarized range consists of very strong hands and very weak hands, which can make it difficult for opponents to call or fold. This strategy can be particularly effective against tight players who are more likely to fold to aggression.

On the other hand, Little suggests using a linear three-bet range against more aggressive opponents. A linear range includes a wider variety of hands, which can help to balance your betting and make it more difficult for opponents to exploit your strategy.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
