Play'n GO Joins Forces with DOCV to Bolster German Online Casino Industry
Play’n GO, a leading supplier of online casino content, has joined the Deutscher Online Casinoverband (DOCV), the German Online Casino Association. This move is part of Play’n GO’s effort to strengthen its presence in Germany and increase its engagement with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and regulators.
DOCV is a trade body representing the interests of the regulated online casino industry. It serves as a forum where policymakers, authorities, media, the public, and businesses can discuss issues impacting the industry. Play’n GO aims to help the industry get heard and further bolster DOCV's efforts in areas such as anti-black market action and player channelization.
Play'n GO's Magnus Olsson stated that Germany's current regulatory framework is 'not good enough' and that licensed operators face challenges competing with black market companies. There is a disagreement between DOCV and the regulator on the scale of channelization, with industry estimates placing it between 30 and 50 percent, while the official position is significantly higher. Play'n GO's Shawn Fluharty emphasized the need for a unified industry effort to produce better outcomes, including stronger channelization and action against illegal operators.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
