Phil Ivey's $11.8M Win Frozen by London Casino Amid Investigation
Phil Ivey, a renowned poker player, won a staggering £7.3 million ($11.8 million) over two days at Crockfords casino in London. However, his winnings were frozen by the casino due to an internal investigation.
The game in question was punto banco, a variant of baccarat. Ivey was accompanied by a woman with an Asian appearance during his winning streak. The casino, which is owned by the Malaysian corporation Genting, immediately launched an investigation after Ivey left the premises.
Crockfords casino has a history of high-stakes games and is known for its strict policies. The investigation involves reviewing footage from ten surveillance cameras, as well as examining the cards and shoes used during the game. Despite the thorough investigation, no evidence of foul play has been found so far.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
