Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan to Clash at WPT Heads-Up Championship
Poker fans have a thrilling event to look forward to in June as Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan will compete in the WPT Heads-Up Championship. The tournament will be held from June 18 to 22 and is organized by the Chinese poker room Poker King. The event will feature a knockout format with 32 participants and a buy-in of $25,000.
One of the unique aspects of this tournament is its mixed format, with some players competing in person and others online. This hybrid approach is a first for the poker world, adding an element of unpredictability to the event.
The tournament will take place in the picturesque resort town of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Fans can follow all the action live on Twitch and YouTube, ensuring that they don't miss a single moment of the high-stakes competition.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
