Phil Hellmuth Seeks Revenge Against Tom Dwan in High Stakes Duel III

In the High Stakes Duel show, Phil Hellmuth faced his first defeat in the eighth match against Tom Dwan. Before this loss, Hellmuth had a remarkable winning streak, defeating Esfandiari three times, Negreanu three times, and Nick Wright once.

In the first round of the current series, both Hellmuth and Wright paid $50,000 each to participate in the first match. The prize fund of $100,000 was secured by Hellmuth, who is a 15-time WSOP bracelet winner. Wright declined a rematch, opening the door for Dwan to enter the second round. Dwan paid $100,000 to join the game and ultimately won the match.

Hellmuth, by the rules of the show, has the right to a rematch, and Dwan has agreed to it. The match will take place in the PokerGO studio and will be exclusively streamed on the PokerGO app. Highlights will be available on the YouTube channel. If Dwan wins the rematch, Hellmuth's participation in the show may end, as his focus shifts to the upcoming WSOP. This could open a spot for other notable poker personalities, such as Phil Ivey, to challenge Dwan.
