Phil Hellmuth Misses 2022 WSOP Event Due to Illness
Phil Hellmuth's 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) journey has hit a snag due to illness. The poker legend was forced to miss Event #2: $100,000 High Roller Bounty after contracting traveler's diarrhea during a weekend trip to Mexico.
Hellmuth announced his absence from the event on Twitter, stating that he was experiencing stomach issues and fatigue. He tweeted, "I’m skipping @WSOP Event #2 today. I have 'travelers diarrhea' from weekend in Mexico. I'm tired, my stomach hurts, and I’m going easy on eating food."
Despite his illness, Hellmuth is still actively involved in the poker community. He is selling $30,000 of his action at a 1.3 markup on StakeKings, allowing fans to get a piece of his action.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
