Poker Champ Peter Eastgate Sells WSOP Bracelet for Charity
Peter Eastgate, the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion, has listed his championship bracelet on eBay. The bracelet, won in a heads-up final against Ivan Demidov, is up for auction with a starting price of $16,000. All proceeds from the sale will go to UNICEF, as stated in the listing.
The auction, which ends on November 25th, has already attracted five interested buyers, driving the price up to $16,500. This is not the first time a WSOP bracelet has been sold; in January 2010, a bracelet won by T.J. Cloutier in 2005 was listed for sale at $2,999. However, that sale did not involve any charitable donations.
Eastgate's decision to sell his bracelet comes after he announced his retirement from professional poker in a letter to PokerStars. In the letter, he expressed a lack of motivation to continue playing at a high level. Eastgate is also selling a watch for $10,000, but it has not attracted any buyers yet.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
