Pennsylvania Boosts Resources to Combat Rising Problem Gambling
Pennsylvania is experiencing an increase in callers seeking help for gambling-related issues. The state department of drug and alcohol has boosted the reach of its programs, moving beyond therapy, and including case management services.
Dr. Latika Davis Jones, Pennsylvania Secretary of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Services Program, noted that asking for help is an act of courage. She emphasized that the system must be ready to respond with compassion and practical support.
Pennsylvania Lottery Play Responsible Manager Diana Diertz argues that by offering a comprehensive service to those suffering from gambling-related issues, the state could start seeing overall improvement in the population affected by the issue. The state’s support services are also feeling the pinch, as the people calling are more, their backgrounds are more diverse, and the products they are engaging with are more varied. Pennsylvania Council on Compulsive Gambling’s Josh Ercole attests to the trend as shared with ABC27 News. With the right treatment and supports for problem gambling, recovery is not only possible, but also probable, according to Dr. Latika Davis Jones.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
