PCA 2013: Players Share Delays, Wins, and Funny Moments

PCA 2013 brought together some of the biggest names in poker, and players didn't hesitate to share their experiences on Twitter. Jason Mercier's journey to the Bahamas started with a 90-minute delay on his 40-minute flight to Nassau. His troubles continued at the hotel, where he struggled with the internet connectivity.

Despite the initial setbacks, Mercier found some positives in his trip. He was eliminated in 10th place in the $100k super high roller tournament but expressed his enjoyment of the overall experience. Phil Hellmuth, a 13-time WSOP winner, was making his first appearance at PCA. He enjoyed his time, noting that he was relaxing on the Bahamas with whiskey, cigars, and fish.

Hellmuth had a successful run in the $5,000 PLO side event, finishing in 4th place and earning $33,000. Aleksey Makarov also performed well, securing 5th place in the same event. Hellmuth praised the structure of the $5,000 heads-up side tournament, while Jason Somerville criticized it for being too slow. Daniel Negreanu shared a humorous story about Vanessa Selbst jumping on his bed at 3:30 AM, to which Selbst responded with her own version of events. Selbst had a successful tournament, winning the $25,000 high roller tournament for poor people.
