High Stakes and Drama: The PartyPoker Premier League 2012
The PartyPoker Premier League is one of the most expensive tournaments of the year, requiring a $125,000 buy-in and an invitation. Matt Frankland and Ben 'NeverScaredB' Wilinofsky qualified through satellite tournaments. Matt Frankland won his satellite final against Melanie Weissner.
Tom Dwan was initially scheduled to play in Group A but was moved to Group B due to a delayed flight. Each group played four 8-max SnG tournaments, with points awarded based on finishing position. Tom Dwan secured at least 7th place despite his late arrival.
Daniel Kayts and Patrick Antonius advanced to the final round. Toni Dji and Phil Laak led Group A after two rounds. Eugene Timoshenko and Daniel Kayts led Group B after two rounds. Scott Seiver won the third round in Group B, eliminating Ben Wilinofsky early. Eugene Kachalov was eliminated in the ninth round despite several all-in moves.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
