Partypoker's Potential HUD Ban: What Does It Mean for Players?
Partypoker, one of the few poker rooms that has not been aggressively targeting regulars, recently announced a potential ban on Heads-Up Displays (HUDs). The announcement, initially made on their Instagram story, was later removed, leaving players speculating about the impact on their gameplay. The ban was planned to take effect on June 10, 2019.
Rob Young, a Partypoker representative, had mentioned the potential ban as early as March 2019. The announcement sparked a debate among players about how the ban would affect their strategies and the overall poker ecosystem.
Fedor "Lorem" Truncev, a professional poker player, stated that the ban would significantly affect multitabling and strategy. He noted that HUDs play a crucial role in multitabling and that their absence would require players to rely more on manual note-taking. Anton "sandr1x" Samokhvalov, another professional player, mentioned that the ban would not significantly affect his play, as he relies more on his instincts than on statistics. Kirill "Moron" Rodionov also stated that the ban would not significantly affect his play, as he does not heavily rely on statistics.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
