Paddy Power and Suas Team Up to Tackle Swearing and Literacy Issues
Paddy Power has joined forces with children’s literacy charity Suas to place ‘swear boxes’ in its Irish shops. The goal is to encourage people to stop swearing and raise funds for Suas’ work with children in disadvantaged communities.
Suas has provided one-to-one literacy support to thousands of children from disadvantaged communities in Ireland over the last 5 years with the help of over 4,500 trained volunteers. John Logue, CEO of Suas, stated that one-in-three children in disadvantaged communities in Ireland have serious difficulties with literacy.
This initiative aims to provide one-to-one mentoring for almost 4,000 children in Ireland over the next 3 years. Suas will receive 75% of the cash donated by this profanity tariff, aiming to service an additional 3,948 children by the end of 2019. The remaining 25% will go to the Borris House Festival of Writing & Ideas to fund classes in creative writing each year by leading authors.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
