Nikita Kalinin's WSOP Adventure: Shaved Head, Big Wins, and Unforgettable Moments
Nikita Kalinin, a prominent poker player, recently shared his experiences from the World Series of Poker (WSOP). One of the most notable moments was when he shaved his head after the main event because he couldn't get a haircut in barbershops. He mentioned that he tried to book appointments multiple times but faced issues with availability and scheduling conflicts.
Kalinin also participated in the Mini Main Event, where he finished in 24th place. He described the tournament as having a short stack throughout and mentioned that the structure made it difficult to capitalize on his advantages. Despite the challenges, he enjoyed the experience and found the large field of 6,000 players to be exciting.
One of the highlights of his WSOP trip was the Million Dollar Bounty tournament. Kalinin earned $9,000 from bounties and an additional $20,000 for finishing in 44th place. He described the tournament as an exciting new format where players could collect bounties by knocking out opponents. The atmosphere and the unique format made it one of the most memorable tournaments for him.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
