Moss and Blumenthal Claim First WSOP Bracelets in Exciting Wins
Matthew Moss and Eddie Blumenthal made history at the 2026 World Series of Poker by winning their first gold bracelets. Moss secured his victory in the $800 no-limit hold’em Deepstack eight-max event, while Blumenthal emerged triumphant in the $2,500 Omaha eight-or-better / stud eight-or-better mixed event.
Moss's win was particularly notable as it marked his first outright victory on the live circuit. He secured $318,556 as the champion, making it the second-largest score of his career. Moss, who hails from the UK, has a history of strong performances at the WSOP, including a sixth-place finish in a $100,000 buy-in at the 2025 Onyx Super High Roller Series, which earned him $520,000.
Blumenthal, a Wisconsin native, has come close to winning a WSOP bracelet multiple times but had yet to secure one until this year. His victory in the mixed event earned him $248,545 and 1,260 Card Player Player of the Year points. Blumenthal's previous deep runs include a third-place showing in the 2021 $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. championship and a runner-up finish in the $1,500 no-limit hold’em six-max.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
