Poker Pro Mike McDonald Takes on NBA-Level Basketball Bet

Canadian poker player Mike McDonald, known for his impressive poker career with over $13,000,000 in winnings, has set his sights on a new challenge: mastering basketball. McDonald has bet that he will make 90 out of 100 free throws in a single attempt. He must complete this feat by the end of 2020.

McDonald's basketball skills are at an amateur level, having last played the sport 8 years ago in Las Vegas. Despite his limited experience, he is determined to succeed. He must film his successful attempt and pick up the ball himself after each shot, adding to the difficulty of the bet. His poker betting site, pokershares, is already taking bets on his failure, with players able to double their money if McDonald loses.

McDonald's challenge is not without precedent in the NBA, where only a few players have achieved a 90% free throw rate. However, the pressure of official games and the psychological stress of performing in front of thousands of spectators make this bet a formidable task. McDonald's journey will be an interesting one to watch, as he attempts to bridge the gap between his poker prowess and his newfound basketball ambition.
