Michigan's Online Gambling Market Officially Launches
Michigan has officially launched its online gambling market, marking a significant milestone in the state's gaming industry. Online gambling was legalized in Michigan at the end of 2020, and after extensive legislative work, the online market is now operational. Only local tribal and private casinos are currently allowed to offer online services, with 23 gaming establishments and three commercial casinos in Detroit now providing online gambling in various formats.
Richard Kalm, the executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, highlighted the enthusiasm of Michigan residents for mobile betting. "Living in Michigan, people love sports and, based on the requests we've received, they are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to use mobile devices to place bets in commercial and tribal casinos," Kalm stated in an interview with an American media outlet.
Currently, only nine entities, including all three Detroit casinos, have obtained licenses. However, this number is expected to grow as regulatory bodies quickly review the remaining applications.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
