Michael Watson Secures Seventh Triton Title in Montenegro
Michael Watson made history by winning his seventh Triton title at the Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro. This victory places him in second place in the all-time Triton wins, just behind Jason Koon. Watson's triumph came in a $50,000 Quattro Bounty turbo title event, where he defeated a stacked final table that included poker legends such as Jason Koon, Alex Foxen, Artur Martirosian, Linus Loeliger, and Anatoly Zlotnikov.
Watson's payday was substantial, earning him a total of $621,000. This included a $381,000 first-place prize and four $60,000 bounties. His second win of the Triton Montenegro festival also earned him 408 Card Player Player of the Year points, pushing his total POY points to 2,399 across eight qualifying cashes in 2026. With this win, Watson's career earnings eclipsed $39 million.
The $50,000 Quattro Bounty turbo title event was highly competitive, with a prize pool of $1.6 million. This included $1.12 million for the primary prize pool and $480,000 dedicated to bounties, split into $60,000 per elimination once eight players remained. The event featured some of the most stacked final tables in recent tour history, making Watson's victory even more impressive.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
