Max Kruse's Poker Skills Help Germany Win Silver at WCOAP
Max Kruse, a well-known football player, has made a name for himself in the world of online poker. Recently, Kruse helped Germany secure second place at the World Cup of Amateur Poker (WCOAP), an online poker championship with a guarantee of 750,000$.
The WCOAP featured 10 national teams, each with 4 players, competing in 24 Sit & Go tournaments. The event included various poker formats such as No-Limit Hold'em, Omaha, and PLO8. Points were awarded based on the players' positions in each tournament, contributing to the overall team score.
Germany's journey to the silver medal was marked by intense competition, particularly with Austria. Kruse's performance was instrumental in Germany's success, earning him recognition as one of the top players. Currently, Kruse plays for the football club Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. Due to an injury, he is unable to return to the football field and has turned his focus to online poker, participating in tournaments on PartyPoker with buy-ins of 55$ and 5.50$.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
