Poker Pro Mark Shares Insights from His $100k Offline Marathon
Professional poker player Mark has been documenting his marathon to win $100 per hour at $5/$5 tables with a $1k cap in his vlog. He started playing poker in 2015 at the $1/$2 limit and rose to $10/20/40 over several years. Mark has played 200 hours in his marathon so far and plans to play at least 250 hours.
Mark mentioned that any strong player can earn $100k+ at the $2/5 limit. He prefers playing at the $25/50 limit for the enjoyment and interaction with opponents. Mark's favorite limit is $25/50, as it is affordable yet challenging enough to keep the game exciting.
Mark played online poker during the COVID-19 pandemic, which helped him improve his skills against strong opponents. He rarely changes tables during his marathon, preferring to analyze the tendencies of the field.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
