Maria Lampropoulos: From Amateur to Poker Millionaire in Just a Few Years
Maria Lampropoulos, born in 1981 in Argentina to Greek emigrant parents, has quickly risen to fame in the poker world. She started playing poker seriously at the age of 30, encouraged by her boyfriend Ivan "Negrin" Luka. In 2016, Maria Lampropoulos shared the prize with Ivan in a heads-up tournament at the Eureka series in Rozvadov.
Her big break came in April 2017 when she won £1,000,000 in the partypoker MILLIONS tournament in Nottingham. Maria Lampropoulos won the main tournament at the PCA in January 2018, receiving $1,081,100. Despite her success, Maria remains humble and acknowledges that she is still learning the game. She and Ivan have moved to England, where they continue to play and support each other's poker careers.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
