Macau Overhauls Gaming Laws: What to Expect
Macau officials have proposed new reforms to their gambling laws after a difficult 2021. The proposed reforms include a focus on national security, with six casino licenses to be granted for up to 10 years, prohibiting sub-concessions. The shareholding ratio of permanent Macau residents in casinos will be raised to 15%.
Casinos and companies must meet the 5 billion pataca mark in capital to apply for a new license. An analyst from Bernstein, Vitaly Umansky, predicted that Macau's gross gaming revenue could reach 81% of its 2019 figures by 2023.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
