Macau Casinos Mandate Masks for Staff Until March 23, 2023
The government of Macau has mandated that all casino employees must wear masks until March 23, 2023. This decision comes as the region's casinos struggle to recover from pandemic-related restrictions.
The initial order for mandatory mask-wearing was signed in January and expired in September. The government's decision to extend this mandate suggests a serious concern about the potential resurgence of the pandemic in the region.
Macau's casino revenue has been low for two consecutive months, with August showing the lowest figures. Additionally, the government has not yet lifted restrictions on entry and exit from the mainland and abroad, although some limitations have been eased. Tourists from nearby regions of China are now allowed to visit Macau, which is expected to boost the market slightly.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
