Lauren Roberts Proves Her Identity with Video After Ghosting Accusations
Lauren Roberts, a prominent poker player, found herself in the midst of controversy when Mike Holtz accused her of cheating. Holtz suspected that Roberts was not the player behind her WSOP.com screen name, sparking a heated exchange on social media. Roberts, known for her involvement in the alleged cult-like online poker cheating scandal run by Bryn Kenney at GGPoker, was incensed by Holtz's accusation but chose to respond respectfully.
In a surprising turn of events, Holtz doubled down on his assertion, even willing to bet his life that Roberts wasn't the player making decisions and tapping the keys under her WSOP.com screen name. Despite feeling enraged, Roberts decided to provide the video that Holtz had requested. The video showcased her poker setup and offered a glimpse of Las Vegas, proving her identity beyond doubt.
Roberts has had a successful poker career, with winnings totaling $873,000. Her most notable achievement was winning the title and $218,400 in the $10K buy-in US Poker Open in 2019, as recorded by the Hendon Mob database. Additionally, Roberts won a $320 buy-in WSOP Circuit ring event last month, outlasting 282 entries and securing $10,403 in prize money.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
