Lane Flack: The Legendary Poker Player's Rise and Fall
Lane Flack, born on May 18, 1969, in Rapid City, South Dakota, began his poker career at the age of 18 as a dealer in a poker club. He soon started playing himself, traveling through clubs in his home state and neighboring areas for the next eight years.
Flack's first significant win came in 1999 when he secured his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. This victory marked the beginning of a successful career, during which he earned over $5 million in prize money. One of his notable achievements includes his daughter, Haley, watching him play in a final table at the World Poker Tour in Aruba in 2004.
Despite his success, Flack's life was plagued by struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. His issues became public knowledge, and in 2004, Daniel Negreanu intervened by sending Flack to a rehabilitation clinic and covering the costs. However, Flack's battles with addiction continued to impact his life and career.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
