74 Foreigners Arrested in Kuala Lumpur for Illegal Gambling and Online Scams
In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, officers raided eight premises across Kuala Lumpur in a new operation against gambling and online scams. A total of 74 people, suspected of being involved, were detained. The suspects were from China, Vietnam and Taiwan.
The operation was executed by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) together with the Commercial Crime Investigation Department. The suspects promoted online gambling activities, engaged in love scams and fraudulent investment schemes.
The majority of the suspects, 61, were Chinese nationals, while a dozen were Vietnamese. During the raids on Monday, law enforcement also detained one suspect from Taiwan. The venues were not only used as bases for online gambling and scams but as living quarters for the suspects. Equipment, including smartphones, laptops and other electronic devices, was seized by police.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
