Kirill Rodionov Reflects on WSOP Success and Future Plans

Kirill Rodionov, a Russian poker player, recently finished third in a WSOP tournament with a $3,000 buy-in. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating that the result was very good and that he had no regrets. The tournament featured a strong field of professional players, including notable names like Taylor Paour, Timothy Adams, Mohsin Charania, and Steven Chidwick.

Rodionov initially planned to focus on cash games but found the skill level too high and the lack of weak players discouraging. He decided to shift his strategy to high-expectation tournaments instead. He has played 17 or 18 tournaments so far, with five of them being in the money. He mentioned that he can deduct tournament expenses from his taxes, making the WSOP experience more financially viable.

Looking ahead, Rodionov plans to continue playing multiple tournaments, including the Main Event and the Venetian tournament. He aims to play every day, taking advantage of the high-stakes opportunities available. Additionally, Rodionov is part of a basketball team that practices regularly, showcasing his versatility beyond poker.
