Kiath Lee: Living in Malaysia, Poker Success, and Life Lessons
Kiath Lee, a professional poker player, currently resides in Malaysia, where he enjoys the high level of comfort, geographical location, and friendly people. He started his poker career during his studies in the UK, participating in local tournaments and small series. One of his earliest notable wins was a tournament with a £300 buy-in in Nottingham in 2015, where he earned around £50,000.
Lee has accumulated $28 million in prize money on The Hendon Mob and is second in the Malaysia All Time Money List. His success in poker is attributed to his disciplined routine during series, which includes adequate sleep, proper nutrition, and exercise. He also uses software like GTO Wizard and HRC to improve his skills.
In terms of tournament preferences, Lee favors turbo structures, mystery bounties, and short deck tournaments. He remembers a significant bad beat in an invitational tournament on Cyprus in 2023, where he lost with pocket aces against K2s. Despite this, he considers the March series in Cheju this year as his best, where he won a short deck tournament and shared a title in another event.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
